Distribution and Numbers of Three Globally Threatened Waterbird Species Wintering in Morocco: The Common Pochard, Marbled Teal, and White-Headed Duck

Morocco plays a key role in the life of many migratory birds and their survival, thanks to diversity richness its ecosystems. The International Waterbird Census (IWC) has been regularly implemented since 1983. Thanks this program, large database on wintering waterbirds’ populations collected. In article, we summarize data three globally threatened waterbirds: Aythya ferina, Marmaronetta angustirostris, Oxyura leucocephala. population which is declining, largely distributed country, over hundred wetlands, 26 verify national importance criteria. angustirostris stable trend years even though can know high annual fluctuations; it winters more or less 50 among 18 host than 1% regional 16 criteria for importance.
